Heather Cameron Purves ("Cam") is a licensed lawyer in British Columbia focusing on immigration, human rights, refugee law and related legal services. Cam earned her Juris Doctor through the University of Victoria in British Columbia and the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, and  completed her Articles at both Whitelaw-Twining Law Corporation and Rauch, Darby and Company, focusing primarily in civill litigation, immigration and refugee law, criminal law, and family law.

Over the last 10 years Cam has developed significant experience in human rights advocacy, policy research and legal research, reform advocacy, and representation through a variety positions in Canada and abroad. Cam has worked as a case worker for asylum seekers in Lesbos, Greece; conducted policy research and reform advocacy in Khayeltisha, South Africa; acted as a legal researcher and advocate for various organizations across British Columbia; has contributed to multiple published reports on policy and legal reform for children's rights; and has conducted legal research for multiple legal organizations specializing in international human rights. 

Cam's practice at Turnbull Law Corporation focuses on addressing intersectional and systemic challenges and biases in society and within the legal system. Cam identifies as queer and non-binary and advocates strongly for queer rights, children's rights, and fundamental human rights enshrined in international law and policy through a trauma informed lens.
